Japanese grant for Garbage Collection Belmopan

Belmopan- The City of Belmopan and surrounding communities will be able to do a better job when it comes to garbage collection after receiving a US$87,539.00 grant from the Embassy of Japan. The City of Belmopan had applied for grant assistance from the Grassroots and Human Security Program of the Embassy of Japan to purchase a new Garbage Compactor Truck.

During a signing ceremony which took place today, November 27, 2017 at the Belmopan Hotel Conference room an agreement was signed by deputy Belmopan mayor Ralston Frazer and Mr. Shinichi Yamanaka on behalf of the Japanese embassy.

The grant is expected to assist in the Council’s ongoing efforts to keep Belmopan and surrounding areas clean.
