San Pedro- Tropic Air Belize is the latest airline to join the Latin American and Caribbean Air Transportation Association (ALTA). According to ALTA’s website, the association is a private, non-profit organization, whose member airlines represent over 90 percent of the region’s commercial air traffic.
“I am pleased to welcome new member Tropic Air to our ALTA family as the first airline from Belize to join our organization”, said ALTA’s executive director Luis Felipe de Oliveira.
Tropic Air CEO Steven Schulte said: “It is a great honor for our airline to join Alta. As Tropic Air has grown over the years, we have had the unique privilege to work with many ALTA member airlines and affiliates”.
ALTA’s magazine also dedicated attention to Tropic’s affiliation under the title “A warm welcome for Tropic Air”, with some background information about the airline. The magazine writes that Tropic was founded in the year 1979 by John Greif with a single aircraft and had since grown into an airline with 16 aircraft and 19 destinations in Belize and surrounding countries.
